Combe Valley is an ancient estuary, formerly part of the English Channel seabed. 10,000 years ago humans were making flint arrows and hand axes on the bank of the Combe Haven river. Later, in the Middle Ages, the area had an ancient harbour called Bulverhythe. Now is the Combe Haven Countryside Park – rich in wildlife.
